Inq28 - Inquisitor Warband - WIP

I don't play Warhammer 40k, Killteam or Necromunda. I do however love inquisitors and their warbands. I've been wanted some team for years. This Ordo Heriticus inquisitor is made on the basis of a Dungeons and Laser witchhunter model with some easy conversion bits.

He's a bit small in scale, but paint will hide much of such a scale difference.

His Interogator is made from a Dunkeldorf miniature. Had to do a bit of cutting in the metal, as it's a monopose cast miniature. But it wasn't too hard to add an archaic looking las pistol and deathly token in her other hand. The inqusitorial symbol fit nicely as a pendant around the neck.

Redemptionists are wicked awesome. I have some unbuild for Necromunda. I 've been using old warhammer flaggelant bodies, random 40k arms and cultist heads from frostgrave. This is why I love plastic! Redemptionists and flames goes hand in hand. So this guy has a flamer.

Same base. Flaggelant and cultist head. Then kitbashed a bit chainsword for this guy.

This redemtionist is based on a dunkeldorf female flaggelant miniature. Only took a few bits to make a perfect redemptionist.

Ministorum Priest. Makes sense that an Ordo Hereticus inquisitor is being followed around by a priest and his acolyte. These are also the guys who's brough in the redemptionists.

One guy is an old Forge World Empire Warrior priest. The other guy is an actual 40k miniature, that was lacking his weapons.

Crusader. This is build on an old void plastic miniature (a freebie with some order one time). The shield is a square riot shield longed with an old empire shied. I added a resin cape from Anvil Industries. The head is an empire head I think, from the old state troopers.

This pilot is from the old assault on black reach kit. An ansolutely amazing core box with great terrain and miniatures. I not really done anything other than small greenstuff work on his ammo case, turning it into a medpack. This is the team medic.

Adeptus Arbities. I've read Eisenhorn a lot of times. This model was started way before Necromunda was rebooted and there came great arbites there. Some void model as the crusader, perry miniatures medieval head and a combat shotgun.

The powermaul is kitbashed from random bit box bits.

Truescale Deathwatch marine. This is not intended to be a primaris marines. Made him deathwatch with a shoulder pad, had some resin candles from anvil industries. Candles on your power backpack? Why? Because it's awesome and grimdark.

The head was chosen because it's cool with targetting system.

The cherubs are from some old devastator squad. They're carrying a melta bomb normally. I've just made them carry some cool symbols, changed the wings on one cherub to make the different.

Arco-flaggelants. Condemned heretics. These are made from GW ghould bodies, greenstuff wires and various flail bits. Fairly simple conversions.

And the entire Inqusitorial Warband ready for paint.

Forbidden Psalm warband

Back for Horisont Con in May, we tried out Forbidden Psalm (Mörk Borg). It's a crazy random skirmish game with random characters and really deadly. I decided to paint up a warband for it using the mutants from King Games - Dunkeldorf line.

This was also my first attempt at using Speed Paints. I've learned a lot since then, and I like the colors better now than I did when painting these. I made sure to use every colors in set set across these guys.

A lot of pople love Mörk Borg and anything realated to it (there's been so many kickstarters with suff). The system and style is not really for me though. But it was decent fun trying out the game. At least it's a bunch a cool painted miniatures.

You can find Forbidden Psalm here.

As you need a ranged fighter for Forbidden Psalm I did a bit of conversion work on this miniature. Gave him a crossbow, quiver and hand with bolt fro mthe bit box. Easy enough conversion to do, no problem there. The scale fit well.

Terrain: Two Fantasy Houses - TTCombat

Back when I started writing Guilders: A Life In Shadows I needed a fantasy city quickly. And I've been wanting one for many years. So I bought a bunch of cheap TTCombat kits. Might even have been bougth at some Black Friday deal to get it extra cheap.

TTC have a line of super cheap small 25mm WWII building. The doors don't really look 25mm - but that's hobby scaling for you.

Video: I Did a small video talking about these buildings and what I've done to them.

Building: I've covered the complete upgrade from WWII to tudor style fantasy house before. So for the step-by-step you can check out this blog post. Same techniques used in this one.

Set: Village Bakery

The first kit is the 25mm village bakery. I've made mine into a smithy instead. Instead of the greyboard awning, I added some actual fabric for a more realitic look. I found the Griswold smithy sign somewhere online. Tweaked the colors a bit in google photos. Printed and glued to cardboard. It's simply superglued to the bbq stick I added to the house.

As with all my buildings I want to have as much of color as possible. I also look at the different buildings, so to mix up roof color, plaster and timber frame colors. The storm shutters and doors etc. I want it different across the entire city.

The forge is not glued to the building. It's a Mantic Games terrain crate bit, can be moved around. It fits nicely against the wall.

As always I've added walkways around some of the roof, for better thief acrobatic actions.

Also posters are always added here and there. This time they're all from first Dunkeldorf kickstarter.

Maison Belle
The second house is another Maison Belle house, also from the TTC 25mm WWII range. By mistake I ordered two of these houses. So I made sure the change the timberframe a bit, use different colors and put the walkway at a different height.

There's walkways on both sides of the house.

If you check out this shot, you can see how 25mm seems a bit of. The Fireforge peasent is 28mm (on the larger, heroic scale end) and he has plenty of room not to bump his head on the door.

Each time I do one of these house I get better at detailing the walls. The thick cardboard rocks, the cross beam. All details that break up the flat MDF surface nicely.

All buildings in my city have a 8mm-1cm wide flat top, so miniatures can walk across the roof top.

A quick side by side shot of the two Maison belle houses. It's before the new one was finished. But it shows the massive diffence in detailing from my pre-paint work. Coffee stirrers instead of icecream sticks. Stones added at the foundation and painted bricks on flat areas.

Thanks for reading people.

As always make sure to follow some different SoMe. I use all the platforms differently. And if you like a great forumstyled community, come check out the Discord. Best hobby people around are in there. It's a very nice place.

It's all on LinkTree.

Guilders - The Guild of the Magi

Here's another guild painted for Guilders: A Life In Shadows. This Guild has been build for my solo games (that you can find over on YouTube). This was also a good excuse for using a lot of various miniatures. I decided to go with the same color scheme for them, figuring it'll make it a bit easier during the videos.

The leader os this guild is a Hedge Mage, starting with a few spells. His entire entourage is more that, than an actual guild. He is the top dog and eveybody else is beneath him. An arrogant man.

Master Darkriver and Ulac
Master Darkriver is the guild master. An arrogant man and a talented hedge mage. Both his starting skill points are invested in cantrips. He can control crowds and absorb sound.

Ulach is a half-orc pit fighter, that Darkriver bought free from slavery. After that she's fiercely loyal and his enfocer in the guild. The mini is actually an elf barbarian.

Both miniatures are from Blacklist Miniatures Fantasy Series 1.

Three Theives
The female thief goes under 'Offspring' and is the non-talented daughter of the guild master. In the middle is Karl and brutish thief with no finesse. The last cloaked guy is Umbridge.

Offspring and Umbridge are from Massive Darkness. Offspring is a 'classic' fantasy miniature showing a huge amount of boob. Never liked that. I painted here chest as covered in a shirt and her legs with pants. Though the model is clearly designed for bare skin.

Karl is a minaiture from Dunkeldorf.

Street Urchin
These are excellent characters. Very cheap for the guild and can stay out of trouble. Both are Dunkeldort minaitures. They're named 'Stick' and 'Dung'.

The tinkerer, crone and scum
I wanted a tinkerer for my guild, to gain all those extra free gadgets to use during Heists. His name is Tanner. The old crone is an Alchemist for free potions and a doctor. The dohn't pack any punch, but for a solo campaign I want the items and utility. Then they act as pack mules and carry stuff off the board.

The scum is called Lemmy, armed with a crowbar for smashing doors and creating distractions. All minaitures are Dunkeldorf.
