Vikings: Berserkers

More info about the game and this project in his hub: Viking Mega Game

A bunch of beserkers for my Viking Mega Game run at school. The berserkers are supposed to be some elite and rare troops. In the game the student teams had to build a huge temple before they could train berserkers.

The also needed the ressources:  Simple Weapons, Fur and Mead.

Ressources are awarded by teachers, when students finish tasks, do good team work or similar. So it's instant motivation and rewards. They can also claim ressources from controling areas on the game board. Changes ressources into something else, if they have workshops, thralls, workers and farmers.

I printed out and laminated a ton of ressource tokens, so there's much different for the teams to work for. It also encourages trading between the teams.

In the victrix box there's some good bits to make beserkers, but not enough for all 6 teams. So I split up the various bits and then used greenstuff to maximize the bear pelts. Beserkers ought to have been nude, but I didn't have correct bodies. Also I gave them all two axes, to make them distinct from the huscarls with dane axes. Not going for full historical accuracy hear.

Happy with the result.  I might consider, for berserkes in a future re-run, to invest in a bunch of Wargames Atlan

Here's the painted berserkers.

Here's the finished green hird. I had a lot of different green paints in the collection, so there's many different tones of green on this team. As with all hirds, all the shield designs are different as well. Free variety in the army.

Guilders: A couple of civilians

When putting together my new guild for Guilders 1.6, I also put together two other miniatures (before settling on which to use). These are from Dungeons and Lasers III: Woodhaven. Excellent miniatures once again, I'm very impressed with the sculpting. The connection points / mold lines) are so well hidden through design - it's really good.

I've painted these with speed paint. Base coat brown from below, white from the top. A bit of wash here and there, then speed paint.

A beggar missing a leg, for use as a potential scum, prisoner for The Hanged Man's Friend or just a civilian.

This civilian woman is really nice, I should have some chickens somewhere - so I might add some to her base at one point. I think this model has a nice pose and dynamic. It's a great civillian to add to the board.

Guilders: A Life in Shadows is a 28mm skirmish campaign game. There's large TTRPG elements to the campaign part of the game. You play as thief guilds trying to make it in a big city. There's rules for civillians and guards, that the game controls based on player actions.

You can find the beta rules (and a Lite version), starting warbands and similar stuff right here: Google Drive.
