Inq28 - Inquisitor Warband - WIP

 I don't play Warhammer 40k, Killteam or Necromunda. I do however love inquisitors and their warbands. I've been wanted some team for years. This Ordo Heriticus inquisitor is made on the basis of a Dungeons and Laser witchhunter model with some easy conversion bits. 

He's a bit small in scale, but paint will hide much of such a scale difference.

His Interogator is made from a Dunkeldorf miniature. Had to do a bit of cutting in the metal, as it's a monopose cast miniature. But it wasn't too hard to add an archaic looking las pistol and deathly token in her other hand. The inqusitorial symbol fit nicely as a pendant around the neck.

Redemptionists are wicked awesome. I have some unbuild for Necromunda. I 've been using old warhammer flaggelant bodies, random 40k arms and cultist heads from frostgrave. This is why I love plastic! Redemptionists and flames goes hand in hand. So this guy has a flamer.

Same base. Flaggelant and cultist head. Then kitbashed a bit chainsword for this guy.

This redemtionist is based on a dunkeldorf female flaggelant miniature. Only took a few bits to make a perfect redemptionist.

Ministorum Priest. Makes sense that an Ordo Hereticus inquisitor is being followed around by a priest and his acolyte. These are also the guys who's brough in the redemptionists. 

One guy is an old Forge World Empire Warrior priest. The other guy is an actual 40k miniature, that was lacking his weapons. 

Crusader. This is build on an old void plastic miniature (a freebie with some order one time). The shield is a square riot shield longed with an old empire shied. I added a resin cape from Anvil Industries. The head is an empire head I think, from the old state troopers.

This pilot is from the old assault on black reach kit. An ansolutely amazing core box with great terrain and miniatures. I not really done anything other than small greenstuff work on his ammo case, turning it into a medpack. This is the team medic.

Adeptus Arbities. I've read Eisenhorn a lot of times. This model was started way before Necromunda was rebooted and there came great arbites there. Some void model as the crusader, perry miniatures medieval head and a combat shotgun.

The powermaul is kitbashed from random bit box bits.

Truescale Deathwatch marine. This is not intended to be a primaris marines. Made him deathwatch with a shoulder pad, had some resin candles from anvil industries. Candles on your power backpack? Why? Because it's awesome and grimdark.

The head was chosen because it's cool with targetting system. 

The cherubs are from some old devastator squad. They're carrying a melta bomb normally. I've just made them carry some cool symbols, changed the wings on one cherub to make the different. 

Arco-flaggelants. Condemned heretics. These are made from GW ghould bodies, greenstuff wires and various flail bits. Fairly simple conversions.

And the entire Inqusitorial Warband ready for paint.

Warhammer 40k: Imperial Knight

 This is the first Imperial Knight I've painted up. It's my son's miniature, he got it for christmas. I got it in an auction and it was just under half price for a new kit. It was new in box, so I also got to build it together with my son. 

He also chose the colors for it. I base coated the entire thing red - which was a mistake. Because it was really bad to paint up the all the metal areas. When I did the Titan later on, I base coated it all in metal instead and painted the colored areas up. 

The shield and should details are made with a thin marker, it works pretty neatly for something like this, where there's no decals with the miniature (i didn't get any). 

This was an amazing miniature to build, a really well done model kit.

I'm currently building all manner of 40k themed stuff. really into some inq28 looking types, it's nice kitbashing and will be entered into a community challenge on the Discord - why not come join it? 

Daemon Prince of Nurgle

 My kids simply loves Nurgle. Back when 8th edition 40k came out, I bought a ton of Nurgle and Deathguard stuff for cheap or free (the regular buy, resell, break even trick). Also got the Forge World daemon prince of nugle miniature. 

It's been in the garage for years, but now it's painted up. All Army Painter Speedpaint (except the metal). Also gave it a gloss varnish for that shiny wet and gross look.

I'm especially happy with the look that came out on the rusted decayed metal parts. 

I made the hoses from the arm to the barrel myself with greenstuff, I must have lost the originals at some point. 

He's standing nice and gross in the cabinet with the other nurgle dudes. 

I mostly do non GW stuff, all manner of smaller indie and skirmish games. I post about it here and there, my main pressence is over on Discord. So maybe jump in there and have a look. It's all collected over on LinkTree. 

Warhound Titan - 3d printed

 At work (at an elementary school) I've gotten to teach "Design and Crafts" and the school bought a couple of 3d printers. I've thrown a lot of freebie hours into learning how that stuff works and as part of the process I've printed up a Warhound Titan for my kid. He really wanted one for christmas. It was a nice project and good learning experience. 

My kid chose the colors for the titan. It's was base coated black, painted with regular acrylics and a ton of different washes. All the color trimmings were done with markers / felt pens, it worked allright but still needed a gold drybrush. 

There was no instruction to the ~100 parts, some of them pretty small. And I mistankly put the legs on backwards without noticing. Only when getting to the shin guards I remembered 'wooops, they have those weird reverrse legs'. Anyway - works well enought and it still a big stompy robot.

Space Marine Upcycling

My kid loves Space Marines, and there's no around it - they are cool. We've been searching through old trash boxes and found 30+ broken, badly painted marines. Some back from 2nd edition. We've been removing as much paint as possible. 

Now I'll convert at force with whatever bits I have from other auction job lots.

Devastators 

We need some devastators with big guns. I had a bunch of devastator weapons from some trades and will try and work them on the old 2nd edtition monopose marines. There's som size difference and it'll need a bunch of greenstuff to fit (and connect the wires to backpacks). 

Simple greenstuff connections. Most importantly is that there's a visble elbow armor, that will stand out when painted and washed. 

This guy was pretty maimed on the right side. Made a wire from the backpack to the helmet, will hide up this area good. 

Command Squad and HQ

I want one of each of the command and HQ choices, all the classics. So I've converted up a chaplain (cut a mace, to make it flat like the crozius).  

The command squad options so far is a company commander with a powerfist, cool helmet, banner and plasma pistol. Also made a champion (saw it listed on a real HQ box), a dude with a shield and a power sword. 

The librarian turned out really nice. Game him a power axe (that's pretty 90s classic) and a storm bolter - cause those are cool. Added some scrolls from bit box and added a book to his back, glued on a tooth pick as a 'banner' pole.

For the chaplain I've used a chaos spacemarine skull helmet. I've removed the chaos star and is left with a nice skull helmet. Found an iron halo for his backpack and a ton of purity seals for one side of him (to add some color to a black armor). 

We had 3 broken Terminators in the box. I found some terminator bits with better weapons and a resin power hammer from a anvil industry goodie bag. One have power claw and bolter. Assault Cannon and power fist. Thunder hammer and storm shield. 

I didn't have loose terminator shoulders, so did some cutting on their regular arms, to save the shoulders. Reworked a shoulder pad in green stuff for the right size. 

Instead of building the entire force (as I often do with projects), I base coated these first couple dudes. Will paint them and then move on to the next ones. These are mostly for toys and playing with. There's not really any rules in mind when working. 

I'm really excited about bringing life to some very old miniatures, all gotten as part of other lots or trades. A nice conversion project. And painting old 2nd edition monopose marines (my first ever miniatures) is awesome.
