Dungerdon - from Ramshackle Games

I've been eyeing the gigantic Dungerdon from Ramshackles for years and I really like the smaller dungers. Excellent little creatures.
I bought the Dungerdon back during Covid19 when lots of smaller businesses got hit, and I decided to spend some of my cash buying stuff from them. So here's the Dungerdon - the biggest piece of resin I own.

This model will be used in This Is Not A Test as a behemoth class creature, with the It Came From The Wastes expansion. But I haven't put any post apocalypse scrap on the base, so me might also make it into Oathmark with some goblins on his back.

The model comes with a lot crew barbarians, platforms, throne and another face (fits over the first one) with chains and a handler.

For painting I base coated the model brown (after a good wash in soapy water). Chose different browns, charcoal, greys and bone colors to paint him up. Lots of drybrushing and then layers of wash. Using both strong and dark tone to give him different shades of darkness.

Unboxing: UrbanMatz pre-painted terrain

As part of the preparation for Horisont Con (that Covid19 have now moved to May 2021), we got a good deal on mats from UrbanMatz. A discount for all participants in a bulk order. And we ordered a huge lot of mats from them.

As a thank you for organizing that order, putting a bunch of money down (and it turns out eat a rather large Paypal exchange rate... damn those guys must be rich) - Urbanmatz send a long what Martin described as 'pieces unfit for sale due to damage or misproduciton'.

I've never before played around with pre-painted and finished terrain. And I decided to make an unboxing video of the pieces.

We cover some desert terrain, fantasy ruins, cliffs, sci barracks. Lots of cool stuff. Some I'll use directly in my games and other stuff will get a few easy upgrades.

Check it out here.

Cyberpunk VIPs

For the first scenario in Hardwired I need a VIP, for the agents to capture. In my bag of unsorted scifi miniatures I found a couple of Dreadball coaches. The warden from the prisoner team and a nasty looking doctor. Perfect objective miniatures for cyberpunk and scifi gaming.

A very quick paint job on these guys. White base coat on the doctor and grey on the warden. Then a few added details and a layer of wash. Super easy.

The teal green is vallejo verdigris, super nice colors. The tablets have a green screen made with vallejo flourescent green.

The dreadball miniatures are fairly small compared to many 28mm models. But the doctor still look alright next to some star saga lab technicians. Will need to go teal on the next ones I do of these.

Here's the warden, mob leader, corporate bossman hanging out with a few gangers - from my Reality's Edge crew.

Garage Talks - Patrick Todoroff

We need blogposts for everything! And I haven't actually made a post about the excellent talk with Patrick Todoroff. The author of Zona Alfa, Nightwatch and Hardwired have been on the Discord for at chat about his stuff.

It was super cool and kicked off our series of podcasts.

So go check it out in the podcast hub or listen to it right here.

The Walking Dead: Days Gone By chapter 4

It's time to get through the fourth scenario in The Walking Dead: Days Gone By. Having survuded the attack on the camp, Rick and Glenn are heading back to Atlanta in search for guns. Winning this scenario could be crucial for the succes of the final large battle in the first part of the story.

Check out how the game went on Youtube

Setup

Made a 2'x2' board, with a setup as described in the scenario. But I did add a lot of buildings as a border, making one of them a gun store. Even though not necessary for the game, it does look good.

There's step-by-step, tutorial and other post about all my modern terrain in this hub

Renedra Barn and Terrain Crate

Some time ago I bought the Warlord Games farm animal set, because I wanted some cows to make Brahmin for This Is Not A Test. And for a very few coins extra I could get a hard plastic Renedra barn in the deal - so I got that instead. Made a few upgrades to the kit.

Wanted to make this barn and some terrain crate scatter pieces for the village needed in the first Rangers of Shadow Deep scenario.

Base
Scavenged a bunch of strawberry boxes from a dumbster, perfect basing material. Add a cross of duct tape on the back, this will prevent warping when the thing is covered in pva glue. It's like magic! Te best trick.

The barn is easy enough to assemble, fairly simple kit. I used my hobby knife to cut out the barn doors and glue then in an open position (the sides are molded with closed doors in one piece). Attached the barn to the base with hot glue.

Cut up some bbq sticks with my hobby clippers. Roughly 2 cm pieces.

Using hot glue gun add the sticks to the base. Then I used thin mahogany sheets looted from a saw mill, 1mm thich pieces. Cut out long strips to make a fence. Used some wood glue for this part.

Made a hay stack outside the barn. Glued a stone to the base and covered it in yellow flock from Green Stuff World. The water thing and hay bale are from Mantic Games terrain crate.

Added some 'ivy', superglue on the building and then some green saw dust flock.

I strew some yellow flock on the floor inside the barn to look like scattered hay.

Added some terrain crate details outside the little side shed. The logs and bucket are terrain crate pieces.

Wurt the woodcutter from Dunkeldorf looking like he lost something.

The wagon is one of the coolest pieces from the terrain crate kickstarter, it's a detail that adds a lot of life to a village setup.

And a pile of goods.

Check out all the terrain pieces on the board in my woodland fantasy hub.

You can listen to the episode here or find it on popular podcast platforms - all anchored here

Why not join the Discord and listen in on future talks? We have all manner of interesting guests coming in for talks with us.

While we did the chat yesterday, I even got to build the Thaurmaturge warband I plan to use for Frostgrave 2nd edition. Good times, good times.
