The Walking Dead: Days Gone By chapter 2

Time to play the second game in Days Gone By for Mantic Games The Walking Dead: All Out War

In the first game Rick, Morgan and Duane managed to get a bag of guns from the Atlanta police station and all the supplies on the board. So for this scenario Rick started with 20 extra points for equipment.

Rick went into the game with a hatchet, bandages and a horse. In my first play of this scenario, the camera messed up and didn't save the video. But in that try Rick lost, he died swarmed by walkers. Didn't secure any supplies. Let's see if he does better this time.

The video is inserted below or linked here. You can see all my Walking Dead videos in a special playlist for that game.

Setup for the game. Made a small board looking like an inside of the Atlanta. Pust some buildings in the corners all for looks, a small house in the center and some cars. You can check out all my different modern terrain here.

Reality's Edge: Drone Commander

After a couple of games of Reality's Edge my first crew finally had enough Crypto Currency to hire a new member - and it was a hard choice. I just got all the cool models from Human Interface, so wanted to use one of the models.

I ended up selecting a drone commander, finding a model with a cool tablet and deck. I used hot water to bend her arm and added an SMG from the Warlord Games biker sprue. And then I gave her some goggles from Warlord Games modern military sprue NVGs.

Went with a good amount of different bright colors for the model.

The drone is from a £1 Warlord Games sprue sale. It comes with 5 other models and a small drone - best deal in the world.

I painted the drone in white and blue so that it can work in other roles. Help as a security drone with the ren-a-cops I've already painted in the same colors as well.

And here's the crew now, ready to kick even more ass! The rest of the crew have a blog post here.

Terrain: The Sprawl 2

There's no battle report, after action report or anything else with this post. It's quite simply photos from a test setup when I was about to start Reality's Edge. Quickly build a ton of pieces to upgrade my modern collection to a cyberpunk collection. I'm very pleased with the different setups I'm able to make.

Lots more pieces will be added over time and all projects will have step-by-step blogs on the Cyberpunk Terrain hub.

The Walking Dead: Days Gone By chapter 1 - youtube

Recently I played some games of The Walking Dead: All Out War. And it's actually been a long time since I've played the game. I really enjoyed it. So I decided to take up the narrative solo campaign again.

I've already played through the first three scenarios, but it's been such a long time. So I setup my new cameras and decided to stream the game.

Here's my setup. This entire streaming and video thing is pretty new. But it's good fun and I'll get to generate some material for Youtube.

How about dropping over and putting a follow on both Twitch and Youtube

So starting from the beginning. Rick, Morgan and Duane are heading towards Ricks old police station, to get themselves a lot of guns! Check out how it went in the video below.

Setup
The gaming area is on a 2'x2' deep cut mat, so a bit larger than the rules suggest. The houses are just for flair and look, not really part of the gaming area. The objective was to get near the police station and break down the door.

I've written blog post for all the terrain used in the video. Check out my modern terrain here

Thank you for watching! Let me know what you think, this is new territory for me, so input is much appreciated.

Terrain: Woods

Earlier I've written a blog post of how I made some homemade trees for terrain. It's all written here. That gave me a good bunch of trees, but not enough for a full forrest board.

I always keep my eyes out for good auction and big lots. Won a bunch of trees really cheap, not really knowing their size and anything like that. This is what I turned that bag of cheap trees into.

Bases are cut from thick 3mm cardboard and as always there's a X on the back made with duct tape - this prevents the bases from warping.

I sorted out the trees to have roughly the same amount of big trees for each base and then sorted the smaller ones after that. Fixed the trees in place with a lot of cheap superglue. Made sure the bases have room in the middle, to move around models better. But the 'circle' of trees around it will creat nice line of sight blocking / rough ground.

Lots of pva glue and sand on the bases. Made sure there's plenty of glue around the base of the trees to secure them better in place.

Used cheap spray paints to do the bases. Different browns and greens on the sand. Nevermind some of it hitting the trees.

Add some garden debris to the bases with super glue. I added some sticks and stones. It's simple but adds a lot to the model.

Last add some flock, I just went with three different kinds on the base.

Five larger forrest bases to go with all the single trees I already have.

And here's a full 3'x3' board with nothing but trees and moss. Adding a campsite, some path ways, a river and there's plenty of detail for a forrest board.

TNT: Stalker reinforcements

My good friend is a big fan of the Metro PC games and when joining my 'I'll build an paint your warband, just come and play' campaign - we build a group like that for TNT.

After his first game he got super lucky on the wasteland exploration and found a plasma rifle, a minigun, three wasteland puppies and enough barter script for a new elite soldier.

So I build a couple of new models for the warband for our latest game.

Both have bodies taken from an Anvil Industries lucky bits bag. Actually these guys are mostly Anvil Industry bits. It's only added a GW 40k tau plasma gun to the leader and a Mantic Games GCPS pointing arm. There's also a few pouches here and there from Warlord Games.

Since building the original warband, I've also started playing Zona Alfa. So the original gang will be reused for that as well now.

Dungeon: Finished 4 tiles - Youtube video

Finally got around to finishing my first four dungeon tiles. All four corner tiles are now painted completely and weathered. I've made a youtube video covering the last work paint work.

Video content:
  • Painting wall details, archways, doors, individual stone
  • Talking texture rolling pins and XPS foam
  • Washing and weathering - homemade cheap brown wash.

Show off - finished dungeon
The plan is to expand the dungeon to a complete 3'x3' board. First making two more tiles connecting between corners, bringing the board to a 2'x3'. But that comes later. Right know it's playable and the correct size for the next two games of Rangers of Shadow Deep

Most of the pieces shown below is blogged other places here. Check out the Frostgrave collection
