Guilders: Civilians

A big part of Guilders - A Life In Shadows is the civilians in the city. It was a key part of the inspiration from the very beginning. In Reality's Edge there's civilians on the board during gameplay - but they are unfortunately very static and didn't add a lot.

In Guilders I wanted to change that. Quicker rules for moving them around and all carry loot that the thief guilds can steal from them.

All civillians start with Loot I (the cheapest, least valuable loot). They move in the end of each turn. Roll a d10, move that many inches using the dice as a pointer. Civilians in Guilder's do not 'bump' and get stuck into corners.

If there's a building in their way, they'll move around it, to proceed in the direction the dice pointed. Should they bump into a board edge, they'll move their full move directly opposite instead. That way keeping the civilians on the board and in the center.

When there's enough Overall Alertness (trouble) in the city, they'll start leaving the board.

Civilians are placed as singles or in crowds (more on that in a later blog). For standard scenarios you will need 4 single civilians and 4 crowds (I have 3 miniatures on mine).

Remember all Guilders rules can be downloaded here

Peasents

These are made from Fireforge Games folk rabble. I think the cat is from Warlord Games. Fit perfectly in the basket, so this is a crazy cat lady. Her head is Female Soldiers I from Frostgrave, as all the folk rabble looked very angry.

Bases are XPS foam and Greenstuff World rollers.

The left woman is made entirely from FG female soldiers and folk rabble. The middle is all folk rabble kit. The miner on the right (he has a colleague, not yet painted) is folk rabble with an added Perry Miniatures helmet. Figured as a miner he should wear a helmet.

Citizens
The woman carrying the water bucket is a 3d printed miniature I was gifted. The other too guys I'm not sure about the bodies. Head are old Warhammer empire militia / soldier heads. The arms are from Oathmark human soldiers, with their weapons cut off. Wanted these two to look like citizens, a bit better off than the peasonts. Seen on their hats, colors and cape.

Cyberpunk Psychic and Christmas Sniper

For Hardwired you only need 4 agents on a team. I've decided that if some of my agents die, I have to paint up a new one. This psyker model is from Endure the Stars (that I scored for cheap and flipped to make it free). It's a pretty cool model, decided to go for bright cyberpunk colors.

The base is a first for me, it's made with a greenstuff world rolling pin on 1mm xps foam, glue to 1 mm renedra base.

Over on the Discord server there's a lot of cool people. For Christmas we had a miniature secret santa. Members made a wish list for settings, then got a random member to make a wish come true. I made the below miniature for a guy wanting something scifi.

It's a kit bash. The body is a Gate of Antares concord model, the head is a resin bit from Anvil Industry. The augmetic arm and gun is from a GW necron. Added a drone from a GW mechanicus head with some twisted wires. The pointing finger is from Mantic GCPS.

I really like the look on this guy, kindda envious and might build him again.

Oathmark: Goblin warriors and troll

New units for my slowly growing Oathmark orc and goblin army. This is one of the units I decided to make for getting to a 1000 pts playable list.

Orc warriors

Plain, simple orc warriors with hand weapons and shields. This is the first 10 models done for the unit, I have another 10 models lined up for painting. As with all the regiments in this army, it's a nice mix of miniatures from all other the place.

As with the other units I've switched between different brown, grey and reds - for a varied look. I've picked out as different shields as possible, for variation in the look as well.

A metal LotR hero and a plastic orc. I've added a shield to the hero model.

The unit officer (the standardbearter) and another orc. The banner is from A games workshop skaven banner. I've gone for a Tower of Sauron look on this. Huge tower with a burning eye. The other orc has a beastmen shield, I like those more than the northstar ones.

Here's an example of getting different looks at the same monopose models. There's a lot of cheap LotR plastics in my army. So I've made sure to use different hair colors, shield designs, green skins tones, warpaint. The clothing colors red, brown and grey have been mixed as well. Also make sure that the tuft on the bases are different.

I've spend no time converting, cutting of weapons or heads. This works well enough.

Orcs, orcs - more orcs. Some of these are converted, as they came second hand with broken weapons. So I've added some from the North Star goblin kit.

A better look of the the Tower of Sauron banner design for this unit. Using these symbols across units and always adding orange to the banners.

Cave Troll

You need trolls in a evil overlord army. I've taken a troll from my Dungeon Saga: Warlord of Galahir expansion. I have two of these, so I'm gonna do a bit of conversion work on the second one.

He's rather big and I like the model. But I need to find a good third troll for the unit. But in the 1000 pts army, this monster is running solo.

1000+ points
Here's a photo of the first army. 1000 pts and just a bit over that. I didn't think I would ever make a mass battle army again, but I'm really happy with the look of the project. The army looks good and It'll be fun to expand it even further with even more models.

And a quick attempt at shooting a small video of the army.

TNT: Slaver and Peace Keeper Reinforcements pt 2

One of the joys of campaign skirmish gaming is getting new models into the team. I rarely reuse models that have died in a game as well. It's such a good reason to paint up new models for warbands, when models die in game.

These models are made for two different TNT warbands. First is some heavy support for The Khans - slaver gang

This is an up-armed soldier using the peace keeper list. She's armed with an smg and a rocket launcher. The model is all Warlord Games bits from the zombie line of survivors and bikers.

Second new model is for my peace keeper warband 'Common Order'. This team has had a rought start, lots of wounds, banged-up characters and few caps found for new troopers. This old veteran is a regular Officer. He's made from the Terminator resistance soldiers with extra bits from Warlord Games modern soliders and zombie survivors. The head is from a WW2 Russian soldier.

Zona Alfa: Bandit Leader

The Zona Alfa Facebook community is super active and author Patrick Todoroff is making some good competitions over  there. There's been a 'make a single human miniature' competition and I decided to enter.

The model is made with Warlord Games bits. Legs, AK and head are from the modern military sprue. The torso and pistol arm is from the zombie survivors. The backpack is a Warlord Games ww2 sprue bit. The straps on the AK and backpack are made from thin paper.  He has a respirator in the belt, resin from Anvil Industry.

The colors on the model are inspired from two different bandits from the Stalker PC game.

Cyberpunk VIPs

For the first scenario in Hardwired I need a VIP, for the agents to capture. In my bag of unsorted scifi miniatures I found a couple of Dreadball coaches. The warden from the prisoner team and a nasty looking doctor. Perfect objective miniatures for cyberpunk and scifi gaming.

A very quick paint job on these guys. White base coat on the doctor and grey on the warden. Then a few added details and a layer of wash. Super easy.

The teal green is vallejo verdigris, super nice colors. The tablets have a green screen made with vallejo flourescent green.

The dreadball miniatures are fairly small compared to many 28mm models. But the doctor still look alright next to some star saga lab technicians. Will need to go teal on the next ones I do of these.

Here's the warden, mob leader, corporate bossman hanging out with a few gangers - from my Reality's Edge crew.

Reality's Edge: Drone Commander

After a couple of games of Reality's Edge my first crew finally had enough Crypto Currency to hire a new member - and it was a hard choice. I just got all the cool models from Human Interface, so wanted to use one of the models.

I ended up selecting a drone commander, finding a model with a cool tablet and deck. I used hot water to bend her arm and added an SMG from the Warlord Games biker sprue. And then I gave her some goggles from Warlord Games modern military sprue NVGs.

Went with a good amount of different bright colors for the model.

The drone is from a £1 Warlord Games sprue sale. It comes with 5 other models and a small drone - best deal in the world.

I painted the drone in white and blue so that it can work in other roles. Help as a security drone with the ren-a-cops I've already painted in the same colors as well.

And here's the crew now, ready to kick even more ass! The rest of the crew have a blog post here.

TNT: Stalker reinforcements

My good friend is a big fan of the Metro PC games and when joining my 'I'll build an paint your warband, just come and play' campaign - we build a group like that for TNT.

After his first game he got super lucky on the wasteland exploration and found a plasma rifle, a minigun, three wasteland puppies and enough barter script for a new elite soldier.

So I build a couple of new models for the warband for our latest game.

Both have bodies taken from an Anvil Industries lucky bits bag. Actually these guys are mostly Anvil Industry bits. It's only added a GW 40k tau plasma gun to the leader and a Mantic Games GCPS pointing arm. There's also a few pouches here and there from Warlord Games.

Since building the original warband, I've also started playing Zona Alfa. So the original gang will be reused for that as well now.

Corp Sec Stage 3

Hardwired: Cyberpunk Skirmish game need three different tiers of enemies. Those can be both humans and robots. The tier 3 enemies are the last you'll encounter, they're deadly and super hard to kill.

I've already made myself some Stage 1 and Stage 2 troops, looking like security guards and something near swat level in gear.

For my Stage 3 guys, I've moved away from the blue and into black and grey colors. These are military, black ops, last resort kind of troops.

Robots
I love these tripod bots from Warlord Games - especially since they were £1 pr model during a sale. The one bot is done without any conversion work, it's straight out the box. Huge claw and big gun. I figure this is an entry bot. This thing will blast and wreck its way into armored vehicles or buildings.

The other bot has a 40k assault cannon added and a smaller claw. This is for pure crowd 'control' - take out a riot with a single robot.

Sedition Wars infantry
Bought sedition wars in an auction years ago. Sold off most of the stuff, but kept some of the models. So to try and paint some of them up, I picked one of each. A grenade launcher, light machine gun and a regular rifle trooper.

Neat little models, easy to paint, a bit smaller than many of the 32mm-ish scifi models out there.

Human Interface - walker gun drones
These cannons are just cool. Auto cannons with legs, from Human Interfacce. I figure these tier 3 enemies release all manner of evil when inserting into an area. Robot and drones blasting everything apart with excessive use of force - to not risk the highly trained humans.

Family photo
Here's the totalt tier 3 black ops insertion team, complete with wheels and flier. All painted in the same style as my Deadzone GCPS troopers. Not a lage as the tier 1 and 2 force - but much deadlier.

With the grey, dark grey, black and red - these guys look that evil corporate clean up crew.
